Maths found its place in problem solving, baking and even dressing-up at an Ilkley primary school’s Maths Focus week.
Ashlands Primary School held the week to increase the children’s awareness of maths in the environment, and encourage pupils to use their numerical skills while having fun.
They took part in The Paul Godding Maths Puzzle Road Show, a theatre performance, incuding the Calculating Mr One investigations, maths trials, problem solving, making cocktails and using design briefs to make packaging for objects.
On the final day, children and staff used their imagination to devise a maths-based costume for dressing up.
Other maths-based activities included baking, online shopping, plus linking maths to art and ICT.
